Fey are supernatural creatures that possess strong connections to nature, though some are associated with other forces or a place. Fey generally share some physical aspects with human, but their features are exaggerated, and possessing some fantastical physical traits as well. For instance, fairies are diminutive fey possessing a pair of butterfly wings, while satyrs are half-men half-goats with pan flutes. The great variety of fey in existence begs the question as to how they can all be considered a single race. The one thing that binds the fey as one people is their origin: legend has it that the fey emerged from the first bloom of the Elder Trees, born from the musings of the Spirits. The fey are like characters come to life out of a painting, perfect representations of an individual idea. They revel in their uniqueness, knowing exactly what was in its own heart and living by its own terms. The individual and erratic nature of the fey has isolated them from the other races, so they have very little contact outside their own private world. The sole exception is for the Wood Kin who may not possess the same kind of energy a fey might but their close ties to nature has aligned the two races.
